Winter is finally upon us, and the first light snowfall has arrived. We’ve been fortunate this year with a mild autumn, which has been a great benefit to the course. The relatively warm weather allowed the grass to continue photosynthesizing, storing energy for its winter dormancy. Additionally, the dry conditions have helped the greens dry out nicely ahead of the season’s first frost.
The favorable weather has also enabled us to begin some much-needed projects in preparation for next season. As you know, we’ve reacquired the new/old land, and we’ve been busy clearing the area, constructing a new road through the plot, and preparing tee areas for their final touches next summer.
We’ve also started work on new tee areas (34) designed specifically for ladies/seniors, juniors, and beginners. These will be a major ongoing project throughout next season, and we’re excited about the fresh opportunities they’ll provide for players of all levels.
In the meantime, we’re focused on wrapping up as much winter preparation on the course as possible and hoping for a cold, stable winter to follow.
